I have created this website in order to share some of the photos and videos I took during my trips over the last 10+ years. Most of these trips are of international variety because I enjoy traveling to far-off places. I hope you enjoy viewing them.

I finally managed to finish writing a travelogue for the first part of my recent visit to Italy. That is, my travelogue for Venice is now finished, but nor for the Dolomites. Please select the thumbnail below to view it. It can, also, be reached by selecting Travelogues > Italy from the navigation bar located at the top.

Last weekend, I attended a soccer game held at the brand new Levi's Stadium, the $1.3 billion home of the San Francisco 49ers. This game was a dress rehearsal for the football games (American football) to be played soon. Although the stadium is only a 15 min. drive from my place, I took a bus to avoid potential parking problems. Click the thumbnail below to start a slideshow.

Almost two weeks ago I returned from a trip to Venice and the Dolomites, and I finally managed to organize the photos I took in Venice. I'm pleased with the photo below of the Piazza San Marco at night. At high tide sea water bubbled up and formed a shallow pool in the square, producing a wonderful effect.

Continuing to be a gadget freak, I recently purchased an Olympus OM-D E-M1 Micro Four Thirds system camera with the 12-40mm F2.8 PRO lens. After I started to use OM-D E-M5 camera (E-M1's predecessor) in the fall of 2012, I decided that DSLRs are things of the past, at least for me, and I sold off my E-3, E-5 and all the lenses associated with them. I hadn't updated my website for a while because I had been very busy getting my house ready for sale. When I was kicked out of my own house for an open house, I spent an afternoon at the 2014 S. F. Flower and Garden Show held in San Mateo. Unfortunately I thought most of the garden displays were uninspired.

You can click/touch the thumbnails on the left to launch the corresponding games. Also, you can find them on the Potpourris > Games page.
If you happen to be using IE11, a recently introduced bug (by Microsoft, of course) prevents you from resizing the game board, meaning that you should not resize the browser window and "refresh". Other major browsers behave well.

You can click the thumbnails below to launch the corresponding puzzles in a separate window. I hope you enjoy playing them.

No Relocation of the Website
After testing a duplicate website on another web-hosting company's server, I have concluded that the services and reliability provided by that company is not much better. Also, it appears that the current hosting company is making improvements after receiving my complaints. Accordingly, in order to avoid additional expenses as well as the hassle of moving the domain name registration, I have decided to remain with the current web-hosting company.
If the reliability issues arise again, I will reconsider relocation at that time. Meanwhile, I'm taking this opportunity to make adjustments to the website. Please bear with me in case I happen to mess up something.

Relocation of the Website
Because of the recent and continuing performance issues, I will soon be relocating this website to another web-hosting company's server. Accordingly, please be informed that I will not be updating this site for a couple of weeks.
Even after the relocation, the URL of this website will remain the same so that you can access it in the usual manner.

I thought the rotating globe (10 feet in diameter) covered with 30,000 succulent plants was well done!

I'm reworking the area under the trellis. I have black shade cloth hang under the trellis to protect the shade-loving plants for now. Although I expect to receive a replacement wisteria in a few days, it will be a couple of years before I can remove the shade cloth.

I took my new Olympus E-M5 camera with me. It was great to have such a small but capable camera on a hike even though the two trails were rather easy. Click the image on the left to view a slide show of some of the photos I took.

In the fall of 1998, I started learning how to create a website and started a small site to show off some of my orchids in bloom. It slowly grew into a fairly large site with tons of orchid photos - my own as well as those contributed by various visitors to the site.
After I retired in 2002 I was addicted to traveling, and I started adding photos and videos from my travels around the world. Eventually my orchid addiction was cured, and over the last few years I gave away almost all of my collection.
To make the story short, I abandoned my NotSoGreenThumb website, but I started this site in November 2009 to show off photos and videos from my travels. I hope you enjoy them.
Parts of the NotSoGreenThumb website still remain on this website. Select Potpourri > NotSoGreenThumb from the navigation menu, if you are interested.
